2021 Bluegrass Pickers, The Bluegrass Jams in Tucker, GA, are up and running and are in fine form!! The Jams are every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday rain or shine! They kick off around 6pm and go for a couple of hours or so. Update: Our intention is for this to be open acoustic Bluegrass Jams for pickers, singers, and audience of all levels. Everyone is welcome regardless of your skill in picking, skill in singing, or skill in audiencing…. We set up on the sidewalk in front of the Restaurant or inside - depending on the weather. The acoustics are fine and a lot of folks going in and out of the Restaurant tarry and enjoy the music! We'll be sitting or standing around in a circle (this is not a stage show!) and each person can call a song or tune to sing or pick. Or you can pass if you prefer. This is a no-pressure group!

The Wednesday Jam at Colossus started in Stone Mountain, GA, at the Gazebo and has been running since 2011. It started as an open, acoustic, primarily Bluegrass Jam where all are welcome at any level of instrumental, singing, or audiencing skills. Over time it has evolved to a mostly Country/Bluegrass Jam where all are welcome at any level of instrumental, singing, or audiencing skills. The Thursday Jam at Matthews Cafeteria is a new Jam (as of 2021). It is a SEBA Official Bluegrass Jam Site. It evolved from the Colossus Jams and is an open, acoustic, primarily Bluegrass Jam where all are welcome at any level of instrumental, singing, or audiencing skills The Sunday Music at Colossus is probably the longest running Jam in Tucker. It started around 2007 in the Old Tucker Fountain as a Bluegrass Jam following a SEBA stage show regularly featuring the Tucker Station String Band, Facing South, the Nancy Creek Band, and a whole host of invited guest bands. The Sunday Jam played at the Fountain until it moved away from Main Street then the Jam continued at the Greater Good Barbecue. It stayed there until moving to Colossus and has settled in nicely there. The Sunday Jam started as a SEBA Bluegrass jam with some Gospel songs and fiddle tunes thrown in for fun. Since then it has evolved into a mostly Country Music jam with some Blues, Bluegrass, Gospel, and fiddle tunes thrown in for fun. Sometimes the Beatles even show up! So pick a night – Wednesday, Thursday, or Sunday, hopefully, all three and come on over for great music, great food, and great friendship.

If you have a song that you like but think others might not know, let's work-shop it. If you can print 4 or 5 copies of words & chords for those who may not be familiar with your song, that would be good. Or send it to me and I'll make copies and bring them to the Jam.
Rebecca says - All bass players, We have decided due to the size of the group we really need a bass. David and I both have one but would rather not bring it if someone else is going to come play. If you are planning to come you could let us know?? Even at the last minute, I don't leave house till 5:45 most days. Text me at 678 592 4334. If you want to play bass and don't have one, you are welcome to play mine any day, just let me know. |
